Ben Chaffin who worked under Sam Parker at the police department and was also a personal friend has been arrested again, this time in Mobile, Alabama. He was charged in the beginning of this investigation with lying to police. They would not tell what he lied about but only said it was directly related to the Theresa Parker investigation. He has now had 3 more charges added including tampering with evidence and computer invasion of privacy. Due to the gag order in the case, they will not release any details but hopefully this is only the beginning of what will lead to a resolution. I figure either they weren't through with their investigation but wanted to go ahead and charge him in the beginning with at least something and now they know more so they're adding charges or he was pretending to be cooperative with them and help and they either figured they had gotten all they were going to get out of him or he got caught doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing, OR maybe they knew all this all along but were giving him some room before they arrested him so that they could gather more information by tracking him and Sam's goings and comings and conversations w/o them knowing.....either way this just leaves more questions. What was his connection? How much does he know? Will he crack and tell what he knows to save himself? I sure hope so.
Also, no idea if this is related or not, but the day before Ben's arrest, there was a body found in Birmingham, AL, buried in a shallow grave on private property behind an abandoned textile plant. The authorities said they found this grave based on a tip called in and that it was badly decomposed. No word yet on male or female......my mind is saying let this be Theresa so her family can have some answers and quit wondering and going through these ups and downs and can hopefully see justice....but my heart is saying please don't let this be Theresa because that would mean no chance of a miracle.......
